Hey, I'm Alpine. I am a very sweet, cuddly kitty and I am also a miracle! Or at least that's what the vet says.
I was found as a kitten in rough shape. My eyes were infected, i was hungry, skinny and sick. Some nice people brought me to the shelter so I can get some help. That's when I found out that I was born with a very rare condition- I had no eyelids which made it impossible for me to close my eyes and damaged my ability to see.
The nice vet decided to try a very rare and complicated surgery in an attempt to fix my eyes. He took a small piece of skin and muscle from my mouth which he used to make eyelids for me, and it worked! (Kim Kardashian ain't got nothing on me when it comes to plastic surgery).
The only care i need now is an artificial tear ointment (its cheap, dont worry) twice a day. It takes less than a minute to apply which i will let you do happily because im good like that.
Unfortunately, the damage to my eyesight couldn't be repaired and I am partially blind, but I don't let that stop me for a second! I learn my surroundings super fast and know exactly where everything is (finding the litter box is easy because it's stincky) I can chase a ball with dynamic accuracy and I even fetch better than any dog! (My favorite is those little mouse toys) I can even walk on a table filled with dishes (humans are so messy) without dropping a single item!
I am so good with playing and getting around that non of my foster mum friends belive her when she says I can't see much.
When I'm not playing I LOVE to cuddle with my human. I am so cuddly that my foster mum says that I should win the prize for best snuggler. I heard some cats like to wake up their humans at 4am, well not me! My favorite thing is to lay In bed with you (or couch, im not picky). I'm Like a sweet purring teddy bear that you can hug while you sleep. The only downside is that you might find it a bit hard to get up to work because I'm so soft and warm.
